Landscape Maintenance FAQs
We get a lot of questions about landscape maintenance; here are some answers.
Is it best to plant trees in the spring or fall?
…Yes? When it comes right down to it, planting a tree in the spring is great and early fall is a perfectly good option, too. That will encourage the tree to put its energy to use for root growth. Just make sure you plant it in EARLY fall so it has plenty of time to get rooted before a frost hits. If you miss your mark, just wait until the ground first thaws after winter. Either option should work!
When is the best time to trim trees and shrubs?
The best time to trim trees and shrubs depends on the type you’re dealing with. Conifers are best pruned in late winter while they’re “sleeping.” Nonblooming trees and shrubs also need to be fully dormant before trimmed, which is also late in winter. Summer-blooming trees and shrubs can be safely pruned in winter. Trees and shrubs that bloom in spring can be trimmed immediately after they bloom.
What does landscape maintenance include?
While your actual properties will determine the specifics of your landscape maintenance contract, essentially landscape maintenance goes a step beyond basic lawn care. Landscape maintenance means caring for walls, sidewalks, driveways, common areas, entrances, etc.
How much does landscape maintenance cost?
There is no accurate way of even ball parking the cost for landscape maintenance. There are a tremendous variety of factors we’ll take into consideration when developing a plan to maintain your neighborhood landscaping. The only way to get a good estimate is to have us come out for a site visit.
